9 suspects arrested in Ashram robbery case

Aurangabad, Nov 27:

Dacoits attacked the Radha Govind Ashram behind Chowk mountain on November 11. The Maharaj of the Ashram and his disciples were severely beaten up and it was unveiled in the police investigation that the attack was done due to the intention of robbery. The rural police have arrested nine suspects in this connection and seized two cars, knives, and 7 mobile phones from them.

The suspects have been identified as Balu Bapu Chavan, Balwan Chainsingh Pawar, Bhimsingh Chainsingh Pawar, Kuldeep Dahansingh alias Rumal Singh Pardhi, Rajesh alias Bhalkar Vitthal Solanki, Hemraj Karansingh Solanki, Ramprasad Ganpat Chavan, Krishna alias Balu Dahiwal and Radhesham alias Raja Ramrao Bhavale.

Rural police crime branch PI, Bhagwat Phunde said, some unidentified persons attacked the Ashram on November 11 at 2.15 am. They severely beat the Maharaj of the Ashram Sharanjeet Maharaj alias Yadavchandra Radhakrishna Parashar (61) and his disciples. The Maharaj and the Ashram inmates gave strong resistance to the attackers. As the inmates screamed for help, the attackers fled away from the Ashram.

The Phulambri police and the local crime branch were investigating the case. It was found that the accused used two cars to commit thee crime. These cars were captured in the CCTV cameras of a country liquor shop at Chawka. Similarly, the accused made phone calls to their accomplices from the crime spot. The police traced the suspects Ramprasad Chavan and Krishana alias Balu Dahiwal on the basis of these technical evidences. They confessed that they have committed the crime. The associate of the Maharaj, Karan Solanki, informed the accused about huge property at the Ashram. Later, Karan, with his relatives and other accomplices, executed the dacoity plan. However, due to the Maharaj and his disciples'' stiff resistance, the attempt of robbery was unsuccessful.
