Father-son get validity certificates in 3 days after HC order
Aurangabad, Nov 27:
Aurangabad division bench of Bombay High Court comprising Justice S V Gangapurwal and Justice B U Debalwar on November 20, 2020 order to the Nandurbar Caste Verification committee to grant caste verification certificates to the applicants Santosh Thakur and his son Ajay of the Thakur scheduled tribes category. As per the order, the committee issued validity certificates of Thakur caste on November 23.
Santosh Thakur is a teacher in Zilla Parishad school in Jamner tehsil. He had applied for the caste validity certificate in 2010, but his claimed was invalidated in 2015. However, the committee did not inform him about the decision taken in regard of his claim. In 2019, his son claimed for the caste validity, then he was given the order of his father’s invalid caste claim, almost after five years. Similarly, the committee also held the claim of the son invalid on November 6, 2020.
At the end of the hearing, the bench cancelled both the orders of the committee and issued order to grant caste validity certificates immediately. Adv Digambar Baliram Shinde appeared for the applicants.
