100 per cent participation of state government employees in strike
The state government employees central union and semi-government employees union on Thursday claimed that they received 100 per cent responses for the nationwide strike called for various pending demands of the government employees. Meanwhile, resident deputy collector Sanjay Jadhav said that action will be taken against the employees who participated in the strike as per the guidelines of the government.
Thousands of workers and government employees in the district had joined the strike. Employees from the district and tehsil offices, Zilla Parishad, all class IV employees and all the trade unions in the city participated in the strike. The strike was supported by more than 250 different organizations. The members demanded Implementation of the old pension scheme of 1982, repeal the privatization-contracting policy and regularize the services of the current part-time, contract workers, repeal the oppressive policy of voluntary retirement, repeal the new labor laws and pay all allowances to central employees. The strike was called for various other demands including immediate filling of vacancies in all cadres and speed up appointments on compassionate basis. State vice president Devidas Jarare, president Arvind Dhongade, general secretary Anil Suryavanshi, Sachin Salve, Sanjay Pawar and all office bearers and members were present.

Resident deputy collector Jadhav said that action will be taken against the employees who participated in the strike as per the order of the government. The administration will take a decision based on the guidance given by the government in this regard.
