Setting a humanity example, the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) employees once again came forward and helped a needy patient.
A poor patient treated at the GMCH recovered but did not had money to go to his native village in Akola district. After noticing the patient and his relatives'' misery, the officers and employees collected donations among themselves and made arrangements for their travel and the medicines of the patient.
The treatment of the patient Arjun Shinde was completed at ward no. 17 of the surgery department. He was given discharge but he had no money to go to his native village at Kotharigaon in Akola district. He told about his woes to the employees Ravi Lokhande and Ravi Bairagi. They told about it to the officers and the colleagues. Under the guidance of dean Dr Kanan Yelikar, deputy dean Dr Kailash Zine and medical superintendent Dr Suresh Harbade, the social welfare superintendent Satyajeet Gaisamudre, Laxmikant Singote, Narendra Bhalerao and others took initiative in helping Shinde.
