Aurangabad, Nov 26:
MLC and head of Kapil Patil feared that around one lakh schools are likely to be shut down across the country due to the New Education Policy (NEP) to be implemented by the Central Government from 2022.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he said that Shikshak Bharti has declared its support to Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) candidate Satish Chavan in Marathwada Graduates Constituency elections to get fulfilled some demands from the State Government.
He said that the NEP is against Bahujans and the State Government should opposite it. Patil claimed that the education field suffered the highest loss since when the BJP came to power at the centre.
“The BJP Government stopped old pension since 2004. Education institutes were paralysed during the tenure of the last Government in the State. The schools which are in remote areas of the region should not be shut down. Teachers have no right of pension,” he asserted.
He felt that the Government should take stand on non-aided schools and provided a 100 per cent salary in 100 days. The legislator hopes that the State Government would implement the Seventh Pay Commission for Ashram schools. Patil said they are against communalism.
“Only 15,000 colleges will remain open due to NEP while 35,000 may face the threat of closure. The State Government should work competently,” he added. P Y Kulkarni, Nitin Bagwe were also present at the briefing.
